Sri was paying around $150 per month on his hydro bill but was thinking of going solar for many years to save money and the environment. When the Canadian government introduced the $5,600 Greener homes grant Sri saw that as a great opportunity and called SolarUp for a quote.Sri has a Tesla car and is getting another EV very soon so he had SolarUp design an 11.7KW solar system to offset his current and future electrical consumption.SolarUp installed 26 top-of-line Longi solar panels along with 26 SolarEdge Power Optimizers to ensure proper solar panel system monitoring. The new solar panel system will be generating 13,116 kWh annually and Sri will see a complete ROI within 8 years or less.

The List Of Functions Of The T

Altimeter, compass, perpetual calendar, alarm, time, time zones, automatic daylight saving time, timer, chrono split, chrono lap, chrono logbook, step counter, calories burned, distance travelled, barometer, temperature, weather trend, azimuth, notifications, incoming call, connection alerts, security lock, eco mode, and automatic sleep mode.

The T-Touch Connect Solar really is fully loaded.

The Extended List Of Features

The Tissot T-Touch Connect Solar is absolutely packed with features for being a hybrid smartwatch. Its impressive. In my opinion, this is really a do-anything sports watch. The watch itself has over thirty different functions. Thirty.

It connects with your smartphone via Bluetooth and gives you a lot of extended features and connectivity. It can send phone and text notifications directly to your wrist.

It has a low-energy MIP digital screen which allows you to have quick glances on the time, but also a clear view of all the functions.

Some Swiss watch manufacturers continued to resist the smartwatch trend just like they did during the quartz crisis. ButTissot is different. Most Swiss watch companies started upgrading their existing offerings, releasing limited editions of specific watch models, or introducing new watch models in response to increasing competition from smartwatches. On the other hand, Swiss watch companies like Tissot gave in to the trend by introducing a model of smartwatches called the Tissot T-Touch Connect Solar. It would also be the first smartwatch from the Swatch Group, a conglomerate that owns some of the most renowned brands in the watchmaking industry, such as Omega and Tissot.

Movement & Operating System

Tissot Men

Like much of the T-Touch collection, the Tissot T-Touch Connect Solar watch is entirely energy efficient with an innovative solar powered movement housed within. Hidden on the watch dial, the latest-generation photovoltaic cells provide a battery life of up to 6 months by capturing energy from both natural and artificial light.

According to Tissot, no fewer than 35 patents were filed during the design of this watch, with its extensive power reserve basically unlimited when offline and lasting approximately 6 months when in standard mode. Tissot also suggests that most wearers will get by without ever needing to physically charge the watch, however, heavy users of the GPS or Bluetooth feature may need to top up the battery with the wireless charging cable included.

Fully designed and developed by Tissot, the new in-house operating system is possibly the biggest feat of the Tissot T-Touch Connect Solar. Entirely Swiss made, with certification to ensure component origin and workmanship, the new SwALPS operating system has been developed by the Swatch Group in collaboration with CSEM. Its exclusive, proprietary operating system is currently compatible with iOS, Android and soon, Harmony OS operating systems and promises all data attached to it will be securely stored on servers to safeguard all users privacy. Tissot continues to overtly reassure wearers by stating the watch, its applications, and any paired smartphones cannot send data to third parties.

With proper maintenance, solar systems can be less expensive and can provide power for over 30 years. The rising cost of electricity from traditional sources has made installing solar panels a breeze for many homeowners. The main factor in determining how much a solar panel system will save you in the long run is your electricity bill, which can vary based on your location.

Industry professionals produce polycrystalline solar panels very efficiently as little silicon is wasted in the process. On average, monocrystalline solar panels cost between $ 1 and $ 1.50 per watt, which means that equipping a 6kW solar panel system costs between $ 6,000 and $ 9,000. Less energy efficient than monocrystalline solar panels, polycrystalline solar panels cost between $ 0.90 and $ 1 per watt, so a 6kW solar panel system equipment will cost between $ 5,400 and $ 6,000, making it a cheaper option.

You can also inquire about any tax breaks in force, such as the 26% solar tax credit under the Consolidated Appropriations Act 2021, that could help pay off a significant portion of the array.

A single solar module can only produce a limited amount of energy most installations contain multiple modules that add voltage or current to the wiring and photovoltaic system. The electrical connections of the module are made in series to obtain the desired output voltage or in parallel to provide the desired current of the solar panel or photovoltaic system.

A Swiss Knife For The Wrist

The T-Touch Connect Solar has the essential functions of the T-Touch Solar Expert: perpetual calendar, countdown, chronograph, alarm, weather, and altimeter functions.

New features have also been introduced, like the activity tracker and message and call notification. Information is displayed on the extra-legible outer MIP screen.

Definitely Not A Smartwatch

Tissot is insistent that the T-Touch Connect Solar is not a smartwatch. Its neither a gadget nor a device according to its marketing spiel and we agree with the spirit of that take. Part of this is a matter of expectation setting: youre not getting GPS, heart-rate tracking, music playback or the ability to make and receive calls without your phone to hand .

Thats not to say, however, that this Tissot cant do quite a bit. With the help of that MIP screen itll count your steps, work as a compass, show you the temperature outdoors, act as a perpetual calendar, run a timer, display your WhatsApps and a fair bit more. Chances are you wont want to read full messages and notifications on your wrist here, but youll get the basic gist and can assess their importance.

All of these features are accessed using a crown and two pusher buttons on the side of the Connect Solars case, which take a bit of time to get your head around but generally make sense once youre attuned. Honestly, we enjoyed taking a lighter touch to our iPhone notifications on the whole no one wants to feel like a slave to breaking news alerts and YouTube-related procrastination prompts. That said, the lack of a heart-rate monitor does mean this watchs fitness capabilities were a little lightweight for our liking, albeit with some justification.

My Experience As A New T

Tissot T-Touch Connect Solar Smartwatch Review and full walkthrough with T-Connect App

As a three-time Tissot owner, I added the Blue version to my collection this week and will use this post/thread to provide my thoughts and experience.

First 24 hours: The 47mm watch size is just right for my 8-inch wrist . Unfortunately, the strap isnt as long as I would like and 23mm isnt a popular size. I find it odd that Tissot would use an off-site and not provide suitable band alternatives of their own . Id like to hear from others on what youve done to get past this.

I was reluctant to purchase due to how much people have complained about the software. To be honest, I have no problems whatsoever . Sure it was a little finicky to pair out of the box, but Ive had that problem with other Bluetooth devices, and got it set up in less that 10 minutes. Ive had no issues with the software whatsoever, although it does seem a bit limited .

Some people have complained about Tissots choice to include NBA scores. The NBA just happens to be a Tissot partner, so it makes sense. But there is an option to hide this from the dashboard. Hopefully there will be an option to add other integrations in the future.

Notifications have been rock-solid. I would have liked the app to be a little smarter, though, and follow the settings of the phone .

It would also be nice to specify sound/vibration settings at an app level versus a global setting.

Thats all for now Ill update as time progresses.

If It Looks Like A Clock

The initiative for a hybrid capable watch is not new. Fossil’s Hybrid HR Collider had a decent run with the term last year and the Tissot T-Touch Connect Del Sol is a much more highly stylish iteration on the theme, one with a 47mm solid titanium case, ceramic bezel and a MIP display to show alerts, weather information and basic activity tracking data. Everything feels incredibly light on your wrist, while its synthetic buckle strap is super comfortable, whether you’re doing work, lying on the couch, or running a 5K.

It also looks good, avoiding the toy face in which related productions have the possibility of falling. Most of the crowd probably won’t appreciate its electronic display at first glance and that’s the point. While the Connect Del Sol is available in six color and strap variants, we were using the model with a black dial and orange highlights, which proved to be a very stylish and versatile arrangement. Still, a few luminous hands would really add to its night readability.

This Smartwatch Has Two Modes

Creating a hybrid smartwatch instead of a full-fledged smartwatch also benefits the Tissot T-Touch Connect Solar. Its because, unlike most smartwatches from Samsung and Apple, the T-Touch Connect Solar has two modes, a watch mode and a connected mode. The difference between these two modes lies in the number of features it can use. Lets start with the watch mode. When the T-Touch Connected Solar is on watch mode, the watch is not connected to your phone and employs the essential functions of the watch, such as date and time, chronograph, compass, timezone, and alarms. The Tissot T-Touch Connected Solar will function as a regular mechanical watch when this smartwatch is in watch mode.

If It Looks Like A Watch

The idea of a hybrid smartwatch isnt a new one. Fossils Hybrid HR Collider had a decent crack at the concept last year and the Tissot T-Touch Connect Solar is a classier iteration on the theme, one with a chunky 47mm titanium case, ceramic bezel and a MIP screen for displaying notifications, weather info and basic activity-tracking details. The whole thing feels surprisingly lightweight on your wrist, while its synthetic buckled strap is super comfortable whether you’re working, sprawled out on the couch or running a 5K.

It also looks the part, avoiding the toy-like visage that similar creations can fall into. Most folks probably wont notice its electronic display at first glance and thats kind of the point. Although the Connect Solar is available in six colour and strap variations, weve been wearing the model with a black dial and orange highlights, which proved a sleek and versatile arrangement. Still, a pair of luminous hands would really add to its nighttime legibility.

It Functions As A Hybrid Smartwatch

The Tissot T-Touch Connect Solar, as mentioned earlier, is Tissots first ever smartwatch. But it is different from the smartwatches you will see from companies like Fitbit and Garmin. Its because the T-Touch Connect Solar is a hybrid smartwatch, unlike the Apple Watch, which is just a smaller version of the iPhone that you can wear on your wrist. For those who do not know what a hybrid smartwatch is, its when you mix the classic mechanical watch with a smartwatchs technological features. A hybrid smartwatch is an automatic watch that works as a smartwatch. Its like a smartwatch but without a touchscreen.

Awesome Facts About The Tissot T

Swiss watch brands have always faced competition from other firms at some point in their histories. In the 1970s, quartz watches from Japanese brands such as Seiko and Citizen proved to be one of the Swiss watch industrys most significant competition. This event was called the quartz crisis since the popularity of these new timepieces became detrimental to the success of Swiss watch manufacturers. Nowadays, the quartz crisis is just an entry in the history of watchmaking. But Swiss watch companies face new competition from tech companies like Apple, Samsung, and Garmin.

Today, smartwatches are the quartz watches of the 21st century, especially for producers of Swiss mechanical watches. These watches dont only tell the time but could also tell the weather, receive notifications, and even track exercise and other data such as steps and heart rate.

Watch Of The Week: 2022 Tissot T

The fashion-friendly smartwatch appears to be making a comeback with heritage watchmakers, once again, taking a crack at integrating connected tech with conventional watch aesthetics. The Tissot T-Touch Solar went one step further by addressing the one issue plaguing all forms of connected tech: constant charging. As the first solar-powered smartwatch to be compatible with both IoS and Android devices, the T-Touch Connect blazed a new trail that roped the adrenalin junkie into the folds of software-enhanced horology.

The T-Touch Connect Solar looks drastically different from other, more clinical looking smartwatches. At 47mm, its an unapologetically large watch with a robust titanium case and a ceramic bezel. It comes with a textile or leather strap, has a touchscreen operated dial, thats encircled by a rotating bezel.

The freshly launched one now offers real-time NBA score updates. It also provides live updates for the worlds biggest cycling events like Tour de France so the on-the-move sports enthusiast can receive much-needed real-time sports updates. But the niftiest feature it packs is an indigenous bring me back navigational feature which allows mountaineers, trail cyclists and hiking enthusiasts to find their way back to their point of origin using the watch. Its a highly useful feature that doesnt rely on your phones signal to function. Instead, it uses an emergency GPS function built into the watch.

They have a nice breakfast/brunch menu. Enjoyed the Peameal eggs benedict. Friends enjoyed the chicken & waffles and the classic.Good service and staff are friendly. Our only negative is, that the restaurant is small. They need use the two parking spots directly in front of their restaurant and invest in putting in a nice summer patio. Most restaurants have done this. Many customers enjoy eating on a patio, especially this year with most of the covid restrictions no longer in place.

I went here for the 1st time and was blown away with their coffee. They also serve food but I didn’t have time to order any. I recommend their Nutella Latte.
