We think the Ring solar charger is a very worthwhile addition to your home and if youre already subscribed to the Ring video doorbell system, for the relatively cheap price of £49, we think you cant really go wrong. It saves a lot of hassle when it comes to dismounting the doorbell and recharging the device, and after a while youll appreciate how much time youve saved by letting the solar panel charge the doorbell by itself.
That being said, we did think there were a couple of caveats to this recommendation. Wed encourage anyone thinking about adding this to their home to assess which doors have the most direct sunlight, and how much benefit you think this will add if youre trying to install in a shady spot. Like we said, the solar charger only stops the battery from draining so quickly, and although we tested in the winter time we think that in sunlight, during the summer, this is certainly worth investing in.

Perhaps the most exciting is the new Pre-Roll feature, which starts recording four seconds before motion is actually detected, so you get more information and can see what happened immediately before a package was delivered or a person was at your door.
Not only is the video in color, but the Ring Video Doorbell 4 is the only video doorbell on the market with this feature, which was first introduced in the Ring Video Doorbell 3 Plus, which also only recorded pre-roll video in black and white.
